The top 10+1 tips and advices for the application process:

Tip of the month: Do you want to know how your National agency will evaluate your application? Read carefully the evaluation grid!

2. Read carefully our training descriptions and use this information in your application. Do not copy and paste this information but describe how you will make the most of what we are offering (see tips 6, 7, 8).

3. Describe carefully how this training can help you to improve the quality of lifelong learning by enabling you to play a better role in the field of adult (people over 18) learning. This applies both if you are already active in the field of adult education or if you can demonstrate a clear intention of being active in this field. Describe carefully what you are doing (or you want to do) and how the competences that you can learn in our courses may help you. Give concrete examples. Start from your needs and explain how this training is answering to those needs.

4. Describe the practical techniques, methodologies and skills that you may learn, improve and exchange during our in-service training and why they are important for you, for what you are doing now and for what you would like to do.

5. Our courses last 7 days and 6 nights so in your application for the budget calculation you have to count 7 days . Depending on your National Agency regulation you may able to have 1 or 2 days of flexibility for the travel. In that case increase the number of days.

Moreover we advise you to request in the budget the grant for pedagogical, linguistic and intercultural preparation (generally the national agencies grant up to 150 € for it). Our training have a specific focus on preparation thanks to an ad-hoc e-learning website. Thanks to it we can arrange a specific and tailored pedagogical preparation. We can moreover run a basic linguistic and intercultural preparation. In the application form you should motivate which are your needs and how you will spend this amount of money. You can explain that you have contacted the institution organizing the training and that it wil provide a tailored preparation in order to allows you to make the most of the training.

6. Describe in details how you will prepare for the participation in the training. Describe how much time you will dedicate to the preparation and how you will manage and organize it. Describe how this preparation will help you to improve your competences and get well prepared for the rest of the training. Describe the synergies between the preparation phase and your current activity related to adult education. In our courses description you can find what we have planned for the preparation. In your application highlight that you will exploit the e-learning portal for the distance learning preparation phase, that you will have personal account and a guide to access the portal, that you will read the relevant introduction supporting documents for the course (including EU publications, programme guides, ad hoc slide), that you will fill a pre-start questionnaire, that you will do reviewing exercise to trace your learning process, that you will be able to get in contact an exchange ideas with the trainers and the other participants. Mentioned that you will stay in close communication with the trainers and that you will take part to the preparation meeting on skype and carefully read the course infosheet. Try to be as concrete as possible indicating how much time you will dedicate to it and which competences and knowledge you may able to develop.

7. Describe in details the follow-up and dissemination activities you’ll be involved into. Describe how you will use the competences learning and how you will share those with colleagues and contacts. Describe how you will be able to generate a multiplier effect by sharing and using the new competences by implementing learning projects. Provide concrete ideas and actions that you can put in practice to assure a better dissemination of the knowledge and a wider impact. If possible organize those ideas and actions in a structured plan of action. Describe how you will be sing the e-learning portal for a better dissemination and multiplication of the learning results. Describe that you will use it to teach to your contacts and learners. Highlight how staying in contact with the other participants through the e-learning portal and the YouNet alumni network enables a long term and sustainable impact. Describe how you will be active and keep the contacts with the trainers and the other participants. Highlight that you will self-evaluate yourself after the training and that you will be actively peer networking and participate to the online forum and to online networking meetings on skype.

8. Highlight the fact that the training team is multinational and have experience in more than one European countries thus widening the learning opportunities.

9. Describe the added value of the experience in terms of intercultural dialogue and European encounter. Describe how taking part in such a training with people from other European countries can help you to improve your competences. Explain the added value of taking part in such a training in an international and intercultural dimension rather than in your own country. Highlight that you will be able to improve your ability to speak in English by practicing it. Highlight the intercultural skills that you will be able to develop, such teamworking and cooperating in a multinational environment.

10. Describe how you will use the Europass tools for certification . Highlight that you will update your Language Passport and that you will include the participation in this in-service training in your CV. Mention that you will receive a certificate of attendance including description of training content and time input.
